Grace Kelly was a favorite of Alfred Hitchcock, appearing in Rear Window with James Stewart, another favorite of Hitchcock’s. Despite the fact that her performance in High Noon was not very well appreciated, she rose to prominence. Her acting career was cut short when she married Prince Rainier III of Monaco in 1956, effectively ending her career. She was only 27 years old when she retired and became Princess of Monaco. Unfortunately, this was not to endure, as Kelly tragically died in a vehicle accident in 1982, while driving with her daughter, Princess Stéphanie, who gratefully survived.
