Bush was elected president in November 2000 after winning the electoral vote but losing the popular vote in the general election. He was the first Republican to hold office. Mr. George W. Bush Hears About 9/11
In the wee hours of the morning on September 11th, 2001, the World Trade Center was attacked. Everyone remembers the day when Al Qaeda launched an attack on the United States of America (September 11th). Two planes were flown into the World Trade Center in New York City, resulting in the deaths of thousands of people on both sides of the Atlantic. At the time of the occurrence, the president was a student at Emma E. Booker Elementary School in Sarasota County, Florida. The president was not hurt in any way.
