Mr. Ollivander – John Hurt
John Hurt’s alluring mix of quirkiness and mystery gave Mr. Ollivander, the wandmaker on London’s Diagon Alley South Side, an air of mystery. But this was only one amazing chapter in John’s career, which also included legendary parts in films like “Alien,” “The Elephant Man,” and even spy thrillers like “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.” John would often quote himself, saying, “The wand chooses the wizard,” and viewers could sense the depth of knowledge and insight he infused into Ollivander’s enigmatic persona with each statement. Even though John passed away from cancer in 2017, his enchanted legacy as an incredibly talented actor lives on.
