Vanessa Redgrave once dubbed the “greatest actress of our time,” was born in Blackheath, London, in 1937. Redgrave is not only a busy performer, but she is also an important activist who has publicly backed organizations such as the Workers Revolutionary Party, the Palestine Liberation Organization, and UNICEF. Redgrave has received multiple awards for her performance as the lead in Call the Midwife, whose tenth season began earlier this year.
